Hello 2018!

Yesterday evening we spent some of the evening watching episodes of The Crown. At 11-45pm, we dashed down to Fish Hoek Beach in time to yell “Happy New Year”. There were some people at the beach but it wasn’t very crowded. There were a few fireworks that went off across the bay but nothing too long or spectacular. This photo wasn’t taken last night, but it is Fish Hoek at night!

After going to bed after midnight, I woke up at 6am. The gym was open, so I went quite early. I ran 6.5km, cycled for 10 minutes and then swam 12 lengths, of which 10 were crawl. My arms have been aching because of the swimming. It’s going to be some time before I’ve built up the stamina for sore muscles to lighten up. I swam 4 lengths of crawl without stopping and the rest I stopped after every two lengths.

The rest of the day was restful.

#524 of my 1000 thanks. As I enjoyed a good rest this morning, I appreciated it as from tomorrow I need to be prepared to hit the road running. I am anticipating a lot of work, which made the rest all the sweeter!

Later in the day we went for a drive with Julian and ended up at Echo having dinner with Jess and Gerrie. David arrived home from his break as well. It was great to see him.

Now we are home and I’m wrapping up the day and heading for an early night!

I’m back to the beginning of the Bible again, starting with these powerful words:

Genesis 1:1

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

And so 2018 has begun!

These are the days!

Keep the smile going.

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
