Happy New Year!

7-20pm

We stayed up until midnight last night to ring in 2012. I looked back on 2011 with such fondness. It will go down as probably the most amazing 12 months of my life! I am tempted to say that after 2011, how can 2012 get any better, but that is not how God works. Life is always a series of ups and downs. It is not perfect, but God is and His character never changes. He is the ultimate Anchor who will bring security to the most insecure, unstable, and uncertain life. I doubt 2012 will be a full as 2011 was for us, but I can say for sure that the same God who directed our path through last year goes ahead of us this year.  You may have wondered how on earth you survived the year, but you did!  God is with you. HE will never leave you! He said so…

Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.”

There are so many fears in the future, but you need not be afraid or terrified because of them! Love that!

Stacey and I took this pic marking the start of 2012…

Right after that, I went to bed! And slept until David bounced in at just after 5-30am! The day looked fabulous…

Mike stayed home with Granny this morning. I was so wanting to be in church this morning…the first day of 2012. Pastor Alan preached a great sermon. You can pick up details later this week at www.kingofkings.org.za

Love, joy  & peace to you in 2012. The flower arrangement in church this morning…

We had the family around for lunch and right after that I had a wonderful 2 hour afternoon nap!

Then we met with Janine who will be seeing to Granny for the first two hours of the day when I go back to work on Tuesday.

Tomorrow’s Rise and Shine Show is  pre-recorded, so I get to sleep in late one more Monday! But having said that I am so looking forward to being back on Tuesday. I want Rise and Shine this year to be generously flavoured with the Word of God, to have faithbuilders round musical corners, be encouraging, uplifting, hopeful and generous. I want to make you smile, to be confident, to know God’s closeness, to be able to laugh at the future and to know God’s true Joy. To all of this, somehow add interest and entertainment. A tall order? I can’t but God can!

Lots of love to you, wherever you are in the world!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
