Hanging Between Life & Death…

7-47am

I woke up this morning and found news on Nelson Mandela. 50 days in hospital. This short video from Debra Patta revealed two issues that made Mike & I agree we would never put his Mom through this. Nelson Mandela is hanging between life and death. On life support, he needs help breathing and in order to keep his kidneys working, he is on dialysis.  If they stopped both, what would happen? Possibly, he would live a few more days and then slip away. Is it right to continue it? Is it right to stop it? When do you stop it? He can’t carry on like this, can he?

For those who can’t open the video, Debra says that this last week there were 2 scares – apparently his dialysis equipment needed unblocking and his life support machine showed he was in distress. They can keep him breathing and they can keep his kidneys dialysed but they can’t keep his heart beating. Eventually, that will stop.

In the meantime, his beloved wife of 15 years Graca Machel has NM and Gracaproven herself faithful and loving and kind, spending many hours at his bedside.

Report on Nelson Mandela

Sunday today and another rainy morning in Cape Town.

2 Chronicles 16:9 The Lord is constantly watching everyone, and He gives strength to those who faithfully obey Him.

Have a fabulous day!

God bless you!

In His Grip,
