Great Work Day

Wednesday

Today was a great work day. I got several hours done after last week was painfully quiet. It was a chilly spring day with a number of showers. Mike had an appointment to meet Werner and Paul which he did. It was very profitable. Mid-morning, I went to gym. The afternoon, I worked almost all the way through to 4-30pm.

Then we went to Echo to see what progress has been made today. They are chipping away at the mountain and making progress towards where the lowest foundation will be. I took two photos from each side of the house line.  It’s got to be excavated from where Mike’s standing to the stake in the middle at the bottom which has a yellow string faintly visible. This is taken from the stair side looking towards the Simon’s Town side

This is taken from the other side, looking towards the stairs…here you can see the string…

The house will have 4 storeys. The lowest one is where the string is. This will be a tiny floor with space for a storeroom and laundry. In this next photo, Mike is standing at the entrance to the second floor which will probably be a holiday let…

The main floor is one storey up which will be our home and above that will be Julian’s. It’s big, but not as big as other houses on Echo Rd. There are mansions across the road and up the road. This will be perfect.

This view I often show is from a deck between the building site and the current house…

To build a house you need the following:

  1. Land.
  2. A design.
  3. Enough money.
  4. A team you can trust.
  5. A sense of humour.
  6. Patience.

And it helps to have Mike who has foresight and vision. He’s incredible! I promise you, left to Julian and I this would not be as organised as it is.

Ultimately, unless the Lord builds the house, they who build it labour in vain, so we trust Him first.

After mooching about on the mountainside we went for a walk. On our return David invited us in for pizza!  Nice chat with him.

Proverbs 15:29

The Lord is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,
