#896 of my 1000 thanks – Granny duty!!
We spent most of today in Swellendam. Mike played golf. Adrian and Stacey went out for a few hours. I stayed to watch over Elsie. She was a gem and slept for most of the time. I actually got quite a lot of work done! What a treasure…
When Elsie woke up, I put her in the pram and we went for a walk around the neighbourhood. It was Saturday lunchtime and the roads were very quiet. She loved staring up at the blue sky.
We had just got home when Adrian and Stacey returned. Timing was perfect.
Mike arrived home and we both had long hot showers before packing up. We didn’t want to leave later than 4pm as we didn’t really want to be on Baden-Powell Drive after dark. In the end we left at 3pm on the dot, leaving Elsie about to nap and affording A&S the same opportunity.
It was wonderful to see them all and we will do it all again next month!
The trip home was smooth. We stopped at Caledon for cappuccino. It’s a Seattle Coffee shop at the Freshstop and I have am on their loyalty programme which is so simple to use. Each time you buy a coffee, you put in your cell phone number. Once you have bought 9 coffees, the 10th is free. I saved the free one until I had 18 and today was the day I cashed in the two!
#897 of my 1000 thanks is for two free grande cappuccino!
That was very cool.
Driving is wonderful for conversation. We had a great chat about the power of the Gospel in our lives. I also read a few chapters of Isaiah as it was the part of my Bible reading that I hadn’t done today.
We got home just after 6pm, having to take a detour after a crane collapsed on Boyes Drive blocking two lanes and causing a traffic jam on the Main Rd. We went over Ou Kaapse Weg and arrived home safe and sound. All was well and Truffles was happy to see us.
Psalm 90:12
Teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.
Good advice.
These are the days!
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
