Good Bye Cape Town

We are sitting at Cape Town international airport. Peter and Riana dropped us off this morning. Thanks for the photo…

The first thing was to see if my luggage was lighter than Mike’s. I knew that I was going to be MUCH lighter than I was last time. Last time, I lugged 19kg of stuff around Europe until we finally boarded the ship in Genoa. Julian and Mike took turns in hoisting the load onto train racks and it was not fun! This time I was determined to do better and I did! This was my bag’s weight:

I was soooo happy with that. Then Mike put his on…

Mike (always) wins! But only 200 grams in it. That was pretty impressive. We are going to be away for 33 nights, including 24 on the ship. I don’t know how I did it. My hand luggage is 7.5kg while Mike’s is only 5.4kg.

So today we fly to Dubai, arriving at 10-40pm SA time. We leave Dubai at about 1-30am SA time and arrive in Rome 7-35am SA time tomorrow.

#431 of my 1000 thanks is for this day. It arrived. A few weeks ago, it seemed we may never make it. I have felt a bit ‘shell-shocked’ and not been able to get a huge amount of excitement going, but now that we are sitting at the airport and have just seen the plane arrive. I’m relaxed and getting that excitement bubble up inside of me. Yay!

Isaiah 55:8

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD.

Almost time to board.

These are the days!

Keep the smile going!

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
