Sometimes you should look at the scraps of paper that land in your mailbox. Every time I checked the post box over the last week there was a rolled up piece of paper. Presuming it be spam, I left it there. Today, I wished I’d looked at it.
By 8am this morning, I was at my desk working. I worked through until 10-45am. Having a Skype call at 11am, I went downstairs to make coffee. As I completed the task, I reached to turn off the coffee machine, only to find it was already off. “That’s strange”, I thought, “I can’t remember turning it off.” I took my coffee upstairs and that was when I saw my laptop on but my computer monitor off. Ah, no electricity. I wonder why. I ran around looking for my applicant’s phone number so I could call her. Mike went outside and asked one of the neighbours if they knew anything about it. He came back. “The electricity will be off until 5-30pm” he said. “Oh?” I replied. “How do you know?” “Dawn said so,” he answered. “Apparently there was a notice in our post box,” he added. “Ooops”. I went outside, opened the post box, reached in and took out the rolled up scrap of paper….
I hadn’t been to gym, so after I completed my call, I took advantage of the free time and went to gym, where the electricity was still humming. I ran 3km in 19:16 and then I spent 55 minutes in the pool and swam probably just more than 60 lengths. I’m getting the hang of it! I watched such an excellent swimming video on You Tube the other day that made me see where I was going wrong. When I first started swimming, it took me 37 strokes to swim 25 metres. Today, my best was 25 strokes, but usually about 27.
After gym, Mike went to the driving range. The electricity was still off, so I packed my laptop and headed back to the gym to use their wi-fi. Only thing is their wi-fi is way too weak, so I called Riana and spent the next few hours at her house with her great company and Tin-Tin’s! Old, thin but very very cute.
#610 of my 1000 thanks is for great wi-fi at Riana’s. Tea, cheesecake, work, conversation, Tin-Tin, such a great blend!
2 Peter 3:18
Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.
And amen!
These are the days.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
