Today has been a really great day! The show went off without a hitch (sort of)…if there was a hitch, it wasn’t serious! There’s seldom a show that actually is ‘hitch-less’! But nothing comes to mind!
I left CCFm immediately because David, Jack, Madeleine and Stephanie were leaving to go camping. There would be no one at home, so I wanted to touch sides with Granny before I went to my Friday Bible study.
I wish I had taken a photo of all their stuff! Half the lounge was made up of camping gear and food! Granny sat wide-eyed in the corner looking with interest! When I told her it all had to fit into one car, she shook her head! I made her tea and biscuits and then went to Mel’s house for an hour. It was great to be back with all the girls. Wow, there was some unexpected colour co-ordinating going on there. Debbi, Jo and Bev – Pink, Pink and Turquoise and Turquoise!

Wonderful friends! 🙂 There were a few missing, including Riana who is still overseas! Missed you Riana!
When I got back home, the house was quiet, the lounge was empty, the car was gone! Granny gesticulated that they had left “now”. She also signalled a whirlwind of activity had taken place! She is the silent observer. I was disappointed to have missed seeing them off.
I felt a bit flat! Now what to do! There was only one thing: “Granny,” I said, “do you want to go out for lunch?” “Oooh, yes!” So after getting ready and wrapped up, for the day was cool, we headed to the Ocean Basket. I ordered 6 avo maki and Granny tried her first sushi…
She liked it!! She also had fish and chips which she LOVED. She was like a child, finally getting out for a change of scenery! Sweet Granny. But her legs were somewhat wobbly with all the walking involved! She was glad to get home for tea.
She had tea in her room. I had coffee in my bedroom and promptly fell asleep for 2 hours! I woke up with Mike arriving home! 🙂 Oh my, it was WONDERFUL!! I’m still full from lunch, Mike has had leftovers and Granny has had toast.
All is well in the van Niekerk house tonight!
