What I’m learning today is to be flexible.
The work I’ve been doing this week is nearing its end. Just a few more candidates to see into and out of a nerve-wrecking interview process and I’ll be zipping to the airport to fly home.
The learning curve has been steep. The graph has looked a bit like this:
In golf terminology it may be “it’s not how you drive, it’s how you arrive!”
In my house there is a saying, “nothing is as easy as it looks and it always takes longer.” It goes back 28 years to when I was in labour with Stacey. I was labouring along and Mike was sitting in the ward with me reading Reader’s Digest. “Haha!” he said, “nothing is as easy as it looks and it always takes longer!” I have never let him forget it. When we have been doing anything that has turned a little complicated, I have reminded him of this.
Goal setting is important and to achieve success, the route may be a struggle, or scenic, but eventually you will get there.
The rule is, ‘don’t give up.’
2 Chronicles 15:7
But you, take courage! Do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded.”
You have just got to keep going.
I think there are some other rules.
- Be flexible.
- Be patient.
- Be prepared to learn.
- Lower expectations.
- Trust God.
Keep the smile going!
Great to be in Jo’burg to see my family, meet new people and do a new job.
Great to be going home to my wonderful husband.
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
