I’ve been living in this town since 1989, yet I had never seen Fish Hoek beach like this before. I’m sure it has been like this before, but I have never been on the beach when it’s quite so misty. Yesterday, Mike and I decided that as it was such a lovely spring-like day, we should go and walk on the beach. As we drove toward it, I observed, ‘oh wow, it’s got quite misty.’ Mike said we had come this far, we were not going back. To the beach! To the beach. You couldn’t see the sea. This is looking towards the cat walk….
The tide was far out, making a broad sandy boulevard, out of which eerie fellow beach walkers loomed….
This is my favourite photo…the little lighthouse…not that it did anything to warn potential sea craft of its presence, but it did look good against the grey.
It was the weirdest thing walking through the mist to the Clovelly end of the beach. You couldn’t see how far it was. On our return I took a short video…
Such an different experience.
The thing about mist is that it has the potential to arrive unexpectedly and similarly, just disappear without human intervention. As the mist effortlessly melts away, so God can do the same with our sin.
Isaiah 44:22
“I have wiped out your transgressions like a thick cloud and your sins like a heavy mist. Return to Me, for I have redeemed you.”
These are the days!
Keep the smile going.
God bless you!
