From time to time, South Africa produces a flash of brilliance in the movie world and that’s what I feel they have done with Felix the South African, fabulous family-friendly flick…
I NEVER go to movies during the week, but I heard that Felix was 
on at 6pm at the Blue Route, so suggested to Mike we go and see it. It’s a real feel good movie. It blends the best of Cape Town culture with humour and wit. If you love jazz, you’ll love this movie. If you love Cape Town, you’ll love this movie. If you love the blend of cultures in our city, you’ll love this movie. 
There’s Xhosa (subtitles), English and Afrikaans. There’s Jazz – and it’s filmed in Cape Town too. Just a delightful change from the norm.
It has won awards and been selected for many film festivals. I’m not going to give the story-line – just go and see it for yourself and take the family.
This morning, one of my ‘ take into the day’ verses was from Isaiah 49.
You are NOT forgotten! Today I was reminded of that when I read
Isaiah 49:15 “”Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!”
You may be living with the trauma of a broken childhood. Neglectful parents who just abandoned your needs possibly have left you with deep scars, that at times, cause you pain that’s too great to bear. Today comes the message “You are NOT forgotten.” Regardless of what has happened in your childhood, God has you in His sight. He has you in His mind every single moment of every single day. He will never forget you. He wants you to heal completely and to know that He is your Father and He will have compassion on you and take care of you your whole life through. Don’t forget that today! Feel the love of God wash over you.
