All of us at some stage of our lives are plagued by fear, lies and doubt. There is a saying that goes like this…
There are so many things to be fearful of. There are so many lies to believe. There is so much doubt to be had.
The devil wants us to be afraid. He wants us to believe the lies. He wants us to doubt.
God wants us to live unafraid – to be secure in Him.
God wants us to live in truth, knowing He is truth.
God wants us to have faith to believe that He is over all things and has the future secure in His hands.
I’ve spoken about my dear Aunty Wyn before. She used to live in Fish Hoek and one day arrived home and entered through her lounge door. Unbeknownst to her, an intruder had walked down the alley to the back door and entered through it. As she arrived in the lounge, he was in the kitchen. That would be the first place she would go. She walked into the kitchen to be confronted by an intruder holding a sharp object. In a panicked voice, she said, “what are you doing here?”
Aunty Wyn happened to be looking after her daughter’s dog – a lively doberman pincher.
Before anything could happen, the dog, hearing Wyn’s stressed voice, rushed past her and lunged himself towards the unwanted visitor. He bolted. Gone! Never to be seen again.
The unwelcome intruder is like fear, doubts and lies in our lives.
God is the ultimate Protector – rushing in to chase the negativity and danger away – always on hand to hear our stressed voices, crying to Him.
He says, Psalm 50:15
Call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor Me
Don’t let the ugly intruders into your mind. God wants you to live in freedom, peace and joy. Let your faith in God answer the door and see the unwelcome thoughts and struggles flee.
#268 of my 1000 thanks is that God takes care of fear, doubts and lies. How can I not be so very grateful for that?!
These are the days!
Keep the smile going.
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
