So today no sooner had I logged onto the company server and dealt with a few emails, I got thrown out of my email server and that was that. Every time I tried to access it, I was given an error message! (Gasp!)
Using my cell phone email access, I wrote to the company IT guy who is in Wales and an hour behind me. Fortunately, I still had access to the main system and was able to catch up on some work there.
Then suddenly, a few minutes ago I got a notification that I had been booted off altogether. I realised the IT guy was now trying to fix the problem. I found myself saying, “I’m so grateful!”
Ha# 253 of my 1000 thanks is for Hugh who is fixing my email issue.
In fact he’s just contacted everyone to say it is a server problem and we have to be off the system for another hour or so, hence an early blog. 🙂
The words that lingered in my mind after my Bible reading this morning came from Proverbs.
Proverbs 12:18
Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.
The question I ask myself, which do you want to hear? Certainly not reckless words. Wise words, loving words, healing words, worthy words for sure.
Then those must be the ones I speak.
It is amazing how powerful words are. I remember my English teacher when I was in my final year of school saying, “where have you been all these years?” She had never noticed me and wondered why not.
I had certainly tried to fly under the radar. It was kindest thing any of my teachers had ever said to me. She saw in me the potential others hadn’t.
They were healing words.
It’s not easy. I have spoken enough reckless words to have regrets, but it doesn’t mean I can’t start again each day and reach for the worthy words – speak the healing words. Say the kind words and try and zip it when I’m tempted to yell at a taxi driver for driving badly!
With age comes wisdom, and I’m grateful for that as well! 🙂
These are the days!
Keep the smile going.
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx
