Saturday
Today was the day…
We returned from our overnight birthday celebration in Swellendam. Elsie is now 3 and has grown so much since I last took a photo of her with this dog statue. The first set were taken on 13th March 2020 – she wasn’t quite two and she was fascinated with the life size but cold unreactive dog.
Today she looms above it and still finds it fascinating.
We had a really pleasant drive home. There was not much traffic and the road works are now just about complete so there are no stop & go points and the road is in fantastic condition. The rolling fields of the Overberg farmlands always catch my eye and make my heart sing. They are beautiful, clean and organised. I just love driving through the area. We live in a beautiful land.
We bought home with us some lovely plants from the very green-fingered Ron. He is Adrian’s father, so Stacey’s Father in Law. He has the most amazing garden, filled with an abundance of plants of all sizes and types. This morning we had breakfast with him and the family and he bought 6 potted plants for us to bring home with us. They look lovely.
With the third wave of Covid possibly imminent in South Africa, I’m watching the Western Cape numbers a bit more closely. They have now included the number of vaccinations, so for the last 24 hours, we’ve had 251 new cases. Altogether, 95203 people have been vaccinated for Covid in the province. Not a very high number. Let’s hope the vax number goes up a bit quicker.
A quiet evening lies ahead.
Psalm 104:1
Let all that I am praise the Lord. O Lord my God, how great You are!
The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
