Don’t Wait To Feel Grateful Before You Give Thanks

With the THANKS acrostic, I discovered who wrote it. I got it off Ungrind and it’s written by Briana Almengor.

The acrostic is simply: “T.H.A.N.K.S”

T is for Thoughts.
H is for our Hearts.
A is for Acknowledging our realities.
N is for Numbering our thanks.
K is for a Kaleidoscope of creation.
S is for Speaking our thanks.

Yesterday was for Thoughts. Today is for our Hearts

“This is where many of us want things to start — in the affections. We want to feel grateful before we give thanks.

But, our affections lie, mislead, and are out of whack at any given moment for an innumerable amount of variables. We cannot rely on our emotions. We cannot wait for them in order to give thanks. We can, however, trust that as we renew our minds, our affections will eventually come in line with the truths of who God is and what He has done for us.

Sometimes this takes minutes. Sometimes this takes years.

Psalm 27: 14

“Wait for the Lord; be strong and courageous. Wait for the Lord.”

Often it takes time for the renewing of our thoughts to move to the heart. But it will. Press on in renewing your thoughts, trusting that God will move upon your affections in due time.”

I like that. Don’t wait to FEEL grateful before you give thanks.

Give thanks anyway!

#106 of my 1000 thanks today was getting back from gym and hopping in the shower. How thankful I was for a hot shower, clean hair and fresh clothes. 🙂

#107 of my 1000 thanks is that I have only 8 more applications to finalise and I’m done!

These are the days!

Keep the smile going!

God bless you!
