Difficult for me to even say this….

We are being targeted for sure! The spate of break-ins that we have had, have all happened outside of office hours. Woman’s Day, Sunday, Friday 7am and then today. At least today they didn’t get into the house. Today I don’t know why they thought we may not be home. We had a lovely day. Beautiful spring day, we planned on going to church this evening. We spent the morning doing some cleaning and it was so cathartic, straightening things up, sweeping the patio and even painting the first of 4 windows that need to be done.

Then we had a lovely lunch and decided to have a Sunday afternoon snooze. I was sleeping when Mike said, ‘what was that?’ We have been very skittish lately, startled by every sound. It sounded, he said, like someone banging hard on a front door. We were upstairs and safe and sound. When we are both upstairs, we alarm the rest of the house. We looked out our windows and could see nothing. Nothing more was heard.

I went back to sleep. Mike went to the bathroom. He looked outside the bathroom window and suddenly saw a man walking behind the neighbour’s house. He was tall and strong with a red t-shirt with something like a sickle on it. He also wore a cap. Mike walked out the bathroom and to my study window and looked to see if this guy was going to look over our back wall. Suddenly, another man appeared in the garden. He looked up at our study window and must have seen Mike. It’s very difficult to see someone in our bedroom but you can just see an outline. He must have seen that. He turned around and bolted. Mike was confused. He didn’t see him climb over. Then he realised he could see through the wall. This is what they had done…

I don’t know what their plan was but today it was thwarted. Today he only stole our time as we set about making it secure. Neighbourhood watch (Beatie and her husband and Bunny and his son)  were wonderful as they stayed to help. What a blessing that was.

#414 of my 1000 thanks. They didn’t get into the house.

This was part of my Bible reading today:

Isaiah 7:4 & 9

“Be careful, keep calm and don’t be afraid. Do not lose heart because of these two smouldering stubs of firewood ….”

and

“If you do not stand firm in your faith,  you will not stand at all.”

This is highly uncomfortable, but our faith is in Jesus Christ. We will stand firm in Him.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
