David’s Birthday Gift!

Wednesday

Dear Elsie

Today was Uncle David’s birthday! And he got a long awaited gift. The invitation arrived for his China visa. The next step is to upload everything onto the portal for the Chinese embassy. That will result in an appointment at the Chinese embassy in Johannesburg. He will have to fly to that appointment & hand in his passport for the visa, which will take a week or more to process. He may be able to get someone else to pick it up but once it’s processed, it will be time to book his ticket. It still may take another few weeks, but China looks a whole lot closer than it was yesterday.

He had a few appointments today and had to work, but we got to have afternoon tea with him and went out for dinner. Right now we are all sitting in the lounge watching (excitement) live streamed snooker!

I worked for 9 hours.

My brain was fog at the end of that. A walk was required, so I headed off towards Harbour Bay – our dinner destination. The wind was howling and the sand down in Glencairn gets whipped across the road. Exfoliation 1-0-1. I wasn’t about to subject myself to that so I took a walk through the upper Glencairn parking lot and down to the beach, crossed the railway line and skipped across the dry sand onto the damp. There I was safely behind the sand and right on the seashore. It was lovely.

Mike and David picked me up outside Dixies and off we went.

Grateful.

Psalm 60:4
For those who fear You, You have raised a banner to be unfurled against the bow.

The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Gran xx 🙂
