Saturday
Today was the day…
We went to Darling! The day began early because late last night we got a booking for the Little Lookout so we were up early ensuring it was ready. I knew it had been cleaned and it was just the bed that needed making. We got that sorted and I also washed the linen from the guests who left yesterday and hung those up on the scullery. Then we went out for breakfast before coming home to see the new guest in.
Then it was off to Darling. Our first stop was this little restaurant. Darling Main rd. doesn’t have too much to recommend it, but when we opened the door of the Marmalade Cat, it was jam packed with visitors.
Fortunately for us, a table had just become available so we had a slow-paced lunch. Then it was time to find us some flowers. It’s a matter of driving around. Some, like this mass of lilies was right next to the road.
Then there were Canola fields for as far as the eye can see….
White daisies by the millions…
And a single one…
Just so perfect.
It was a good day and fun to do something different. We didn’t find the massive display of variety but I think Hopefield is the place to go for that. Perhaps another year we’ll venture out again. What is evident – spring is coming.
Mike and I walked down to Fish Hoek to buy some fruit salad. It looked like a spectacular evening in Fish Hoek, but the photo doesn’t show the strong north wind bringing in a significant cold front which will arrive tomorrow.
Isaiah 48:17
This is what the Lord says — your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.”
The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
