3pm
After the hour with Prof Tim Noakes in the studio yesterday, I figured one way to try shift the last 3 or 5kg I’d like to see go was to change a long standing habit…fruit and yoghurt breakfast. I’ve had this for a long time. Maybe, I should switch to high protein/fat breakfast and have the fruit and yoghurt later in the day. So today was day 1. I had 2 eggs, ham and cherry tomatoes. I was very full & it lasted me easily to lunchtime, bearing in mind I had it at 5-30am! So we will wait and see what happens.
I had lunch with inspirational Trish, who has made LCHF her lifestyle, since hearing Tim on Rise and Shine last October. Not only has she shed about 10km…oops, 10kg! but it has also had a great effect on her husband, Bevan’s health. Trish says it has absolutely revolutionised her life – she can make it a lifestyle because he doesn’t get hungry and doesn’t have the sugar cravings she used to have. These stories, Tim is hearing every single day. It’s the reason why he keeps promoting it despite the critics within his profession. Here is Trish looking fabulous…. Well done Trish! You are a star! 🙂 We had lunch at the fabulous Sweet Plum Cafe on Wandel Street. If you are ever in the Gardens area, check it out. They have the most yummy foods that are HEALTHY! Their coffee is delicious. Next time I’ll try get a photo of Karen who does such a great job running the place.
Before I met Trish for lunch, I took Granny out. An outing for Granny and exercise for me. I pushed her in a wheelchair to the Company Gardens. It was an upper body workout! But it was worth it because she loved it….here she is in the Gardens rose garden….
We spotted an albino squirrel! You don’t see many of those…
But there were plenty of the regular variety. This one stopped at where we were and looked enquiringly up at me….
“Sorry, no food for you!” And off it went!
The view from the rose garden…a bit of Table Mountain and a peak of Lion’s Head…
Now I am home and it’s the start of what feels like a long weekend. Mike has tomorrow and Friday off, so I will come home early on both days. 🙂
Regardless, of the day, the week, the month, the year, regardless of how old you are, how grey you are, how happy you are or how sad, regardless of your circumstances, today’s Bible (memory) verse is for you. It’s just 10 words long, so it’s easy to learn: Psalm 68:3 “My soul clings to You. Your right hand upholds me.”
CLING. UPHOLD. You do one. God does the other.
IN HIS GRIP!
God bless you!
Helga xx 🙂
