Covid Vaccine Done!

Tuesday

Today was the day…

I joined Mike and Julian and we all got vaccinated against Covid. It was the Johnson and Johnson vaccine. We are now part of a trial to monitor its effectiveness. We have to go back in a week, 3 weeks, 6 weeks and in 6 months. It took a couple of hours to get screened and then vaccinated, but was so worth it.

I’m really pleased we’ve got it done and all of us together.

This morning, the sun rose over the mountains…..

Mike trained the telescope onto the Sugar Loaf mountain (the little triangular one). When you drive that way, you will see the transmitter station that is on top. We struggled to get a photo through the lens of the telescope, but Mike managed this one…

It’s also known as Hans Se Kop…here’s a photo I found on line taken by Des Deary.

If you are ever driving in the Somerset West area, it’s hard to miss. Amazing what you can see through the telescope.  It took me a bit of time to track down the name of the mountain.

There was a first for Julian today. He caught an uber to the airport to return to Johannesburg. I could have taken him but he decided to try it out. It felt very weird seeing him driving off with a stranger.

I spent the afternoon working. This evening we went down to the cottage and I took a few photos.  The terrace…

Sunset…

I don’t expect an deluge of visitors – we join an abundance of holiday accommodation in our area.

Psalm 119:105

Your Word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.

The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
