Countdown

So now the countdown to our holiday has begun. Some great things have happened today.

  1. We survived the night with no break-ins and tonight we will be even more safe as our final reinforced burglar proofing gets completed today. This means that our house-sitter is safe and secure.
  2. Riana came over and we Skyped with our colleague in Abu Dhabi. She gave Riana clear instructions and now I can leave Riana to get on with everything, so much so, that I can pretty much stop working from Tuesday next week. 🙂
  3. Mike has sorted through all our keys and organised them all so that we only need to get a few extras cut to have spares of everything. With our new and improved security there are certainly more locks and keys required.

There has been a lot of stress over the last 5 or 6 weeks, but I am beginning to feel it ebb away and with the holiday coming soon, I am getting little bubbles of excitement. As the to-do list gets shorter, we are beginning to feel more prepared.

The crooks have been targeting our house (mainly) over the weekend. If we get to Tuesday unscathed, it may indicate they have lost interest and concluded we are secure enough. As I speak, Mike is hammering away on another security feature which will make breaking and entering even more difficult than before.

What a thing to have happened to us. I would never have dreamed that we would have been targeted this many times.

Everyday as I read the Bible, there are interesting messages to those who cause harm, which I’ve never noticed before. God sees. This was from this morning:

Isaiah 37:28

“But I know you well–where you stay and when you come and go. I know the way you have raged against me.”

We are all sinners. We will all stand before Him one day. He is gracious and patient, merciful and forgiving. He wants all to come to repentance, even our couple of crooks. God will have the final say in their lives.

#424 of my 1000 thanks is for the final reinforced burglar proofing, which is looking pretty good…this is what they look like in the cottage. You can hardly see them.

Whew! These are the days!

I’m keeping my smile going!

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
