Game of Cat & Mouse

It really has been a game of cat and mouse. As Mike and I reflect on the events of the past 5 weeks, the thieves break in, we try to block them. They break in again, we do more. They break in again, we go mad with security. They break the wall and get in, but are seen and get away with nothing. They get into the garden, try, try and try again, break a window and run away, again empty-handed. We seem to be making more progress than they.

Yet still this morning there were fresh footprints behind our property wall.

I’ve tried to phone the detective  at Fish Hoek police station, but he has not got much to say.

The most annoying thing of all is that the night before last, a man was picked up in our neighbourhood with a big handmade weapon and a pair of gloves. The police were called. He was taken away but released without charge. He was described by the neighbourhood watch as very young.  The guy Mike saw in our garden he described as very young and innocent looking. This was exactly how Beatie also described this chap.

Got to get these guys off the streets somehow. The time will come.

Anyway, today was a good day. I only worked for a few hours and  spent some time chilling and recovering from the interview days away. We found Truffles had become a gutter cat!

She soon came out…”hello my darling….”

Cutie pie.

But useless as a guard cat!

#424 of my 1000 thanks is for this recovery day.

And I’m thankful too for my Bible reading this morning out of Isaiah.

Isaiah 35:3-4

Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, He will come with vengeance; with divine retribution He will come to save you.”

Our trust is in the Lord.

These are the days!

Keep the smile going.

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
