Contentment in the Little Things

Sunday

Today was the day…

I found contentment in the little things. What’s interesting is those little things actually are quite big ones if they are the moments that will bring contentment.

Sitting in my rocking chair, doing my Bible reading. Right there was a nugget of contentment.

Folding the linen for the cottage. Okay, so maybe not so spiritual nor noble, but necessary and satisfying.

And, peeling pawpaw! It is my morning breakfast ritual.

If yesterday was the day I spent R350 on a rocking horse, today was the day I spent R30 on garden messages.  One in the pot plant outside the entrance to the Little Lookout and one alongside the flourishing vine.

It’s a girl thing.

Today we also kept an eye on and then watched the end of the Australian tennis final between Daniil Medvedev and Rafa Nadal. In winning, Nadal because the first player to win 21 grand slams. Today’s match was a nail-biter as Medvedev took the first two sets in dominating style. Rafa had no chance, but it seemed it took those first sets for him to find his feet and start reading  his opponent. It didn’t help that Rafa’s serve all but deserted him. He crawled his way back and began to play more decisively, finally leading to victory. Good game.  With Nadal, Djokovic and Federer all aging, Medvedev is the guy to watch. He’s already ranked #2 in the world.

It’s been a relaxing Sunday.

Genesis 32:12

You have said, “I will surely make you prosper.”

The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
