Cold Feet

Wednesday

I’m serious. I have cold feet! It’s been so cold today. I’ve just gone and put some socks on. I don’t have cold feet for anything else. It’s just been raining.

Today is the deadline for any objections from the neighbours.  I emailed the land use officer, she said she checked the system and there were no objections that she could see, but she is not the case officer. If the neighbour was to object via email, it probably would reflect on the system. He may have snail mailed and then it still has to be captured, but it’s good news that there is nothing there at the moment.

Tomorrow, our plans lady will phone the case officer to find out what they say. It’s getting closer. Loads of steps (literally). I’ll probably put up some photos tomorrow as Julian arrives and I don’t want him to see them here. Not that he has time to read my blog at the moment. He is doing a serious balancing act in Johannesburg – lots of things happening there.

I’ve been in contact with the guy who owns the plot behind us. Once his plans are complete, he will contribute to the cost of the stairs for two reasons:

  1. They go from Echo Rd to his land.
  2. They are on the land that is shared by him, us and the neighbour on the Fish Hoek side of us.

The plan is that we will put a funicular on that land as well and the stairs have been positioned so there is still space for that.  Makes sense for all three of us to pay for the funicular as all of us will benefit from it.

There are so many rocks on our land. As the workers have been digging, more and more are being piled up. We are now thinking of how else to use them, apart from the steps. They are already on the land – we can build retaining walls, boundary walls and even use them for the ground floor wall. We need to speak to Werner.

Tomorrow, the plumber comes to fix the valve…at no cost. I didn’t even need to dangle a carrot. Perhaps he will work for us after all. The orthodontist hasn’t had a cancellation so it looks like next week it will be.

Anyway, today I worked, had breakfast, went to gym, worked, had lunch, went to Echo, came home and made dinner. I made chicken ala king.

I’ll go and do the dishes in a while…maybe.

Matthew 26:41

Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.

Good advice.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂

Gym:

I went to gym to swim:

  • 20 lengths crawl
  • 10 lengths breast-stroke
  • 20 lengths crawl
  • 10 lengths backstroke
  • 10 lengths crawl.

It was a good workout and I loved it.

Braces:
