Monday
Dear Elsie
Today was the day we celebrated Christmas day in Fish Hoek. We had Julian, David, Jess, Gerry, little Lizzie, Minette, Jen, Grandpa and I. We missed you so much but know there will be many Christmas days to come. Oupa is with you and he is gravely ill. His life hangs by a thread. It cannot be long now and this makes it a very difficult Christmas for your family. We are praying for you and thinking of you all the time. It was good to speak to you and see some of the gifts you received.
For us the day started gently – coffee & then mince pies. David came up. Julian came down. Later just after midday the rest of the family arrived, presents were exchanged.
Then we had an expansive Christmas lunch. No chance of being outside. The wind was howling. No wonder Johannesburg is having rain.
After lunch, smoke was seen over the mountain so the fire services jumped into action and a helicopter water bombed it out. That was effective and it was soon out. The helicopter picked up water from off Fish Hoek so that was interesting to watch. Then, the Christmas puzzle got completed. Jess got to put in the last piece.
We had a late afternoon rest. Then Julian and Gerrie went for a walk. David came up again and we are about to watch some TV.
Grateful for the gift of Christmas.
Isaiah 52:7
How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation
It’s not about now – we are only passing through.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Gran xx
