Everyone needs one of these. It’s a day you just check out and do nothing! I wasn’t intending to have one but at 1-31am, I woke up with the most intense stomach cramps. Clearly the burger I had last night was not agreeing with me. The sharp pains continued on and off for an hour before subsiding and eventually I drifted back to sleep. When I woke up, there was still some discomfort, so I decided a check out day was in order. I scrapped gym. Then I cancelled breakfast with the family. Spending the morning in bed, I didn’t go to my regular ladies meeting either. Finally, I postponed an afternoon Skype call to Monday.
I spent most of the day in bed, only venturing out for a gentle meander around the neighbourhood with Julian at about 4-30pm.
I had a piece of toast with Marmite around lunchtime. By 6pm, I was hungry so we went to Blue Water Cafe for dinner and I had half a vegetarian lasagne. Now I am back home and tucked up in bed still feeling uncomfortable.
I read, I slept, I did a bit of work.
On a different note, I saw these on Facebook yesterday. A drone camera took them…aerial photos of the road works in my area…
They should be done by Christmas.
Nugget from my journey: today I have selected my first Sunday in Cape Town which I wrote about back in 2016. You can read about that here. This is the second part.
I’ve never forgotten that day and have told the story many times.
Isaiah 25:4
You have been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat.
God never leaves.
These are the days.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
