Carrying Sand

Wednesday

Dear Elsie

Today was a warm and sunny day. We had a sand delivery and Brian, Courage’s handlanger, was assigned the task of carrying the sand in bucket loads up the 99 stairs to the top. He is so strong. He carries a big bucket, one after the other, on and on for the entire morning until eventually all the sand is at the top of the stairs.

We decided to get some exercise and join him. I claimed I’d take 10 loads. My bucket was a small one. It took me 20 minutes to do 5 loads and by then I was finished! Brian appreciated our help.

I was not built to do this, but it’s very good exercise.

My heart rate went up to 177. It was a relief to get back to  my paying job!

Meantime, these two…Day time cat-napping!

A few minutes after this photo was taken, Raiku woke up and with renewed energy and zest walked across to Claw’d and stood on his head to get to the top platform. Claw’d was furious and batted him along with a scowl of displeasure. Raiku is the jester for sure.

I worked 9 hours. We did some shopping and amazingly, the glazing guy came this evening and stamped all the windows/doors that have safety glass. We were happy about that. Another step to our occupation certificate,

David has been terrible the last few days. This morning, I sat in my rocking chair and had a fleeting sense that everything will be okay. He’s going to get better. We just have to keep moving forward, one day at a time. Today was really awful for him. He’s feeling so flat, without energy and with renewed muscle pain and heart palpitations.  All I can imagine is that the microclots are breaking down and releasing toxins. He’s supposed to get worse before he gets better.

Isaiah 26:12
Lord, You establish peace for us; all that we have accomplished You have done for us.

It’s not about now – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Gran xx 🙂
