Today was the day…
We went to the beach and I had the most marvellous swim. The water was flat and the wind very light, making swimming so easy. The water wasn’t warm but there were currents that were not quite as cold as most of the water so I swam through warmer streams. I swam to the barrel and back – the beyond the lighthouse and back and then to the barrel. By then I was finished and cold, so I got out. It was a good swim.
I worked for just over 5 hours and also spent at least an hour or more in the cottage getting it ready for the next guests. I sense it is going to be a busy summer coming. Over the next 25 days, the cottage is booked up on all but 5 of them. We have 4 sets of guests coming, starting this Friday. Our biggest scramble will be at the month end when one couple leaves on 1st and another arrives. We’ll be ready. Courage has been busy finishing the loft. Tomorrow, we have a guy coming at 10am to quote us for doing a minor repair to the cottage roof, cleaning it and then painting it. This is a good picture of the cottage roof before. The orange circle highlights the missing tiles. The white ones were where scaffolding planks damaged the roof last year when the house was being built.
It’s going to be a lot cooler in the loft once it’s been cleaned and painted grey. That’s the plan. I’m hoping it won’t be too expensive.
End of a productive day. Dinner is ready and we are going to sit in front of the TV while we eat!
