Sunday
Today was the day…
The cold front rolled in. I woke in the night and peered out the door. It was still and the stars shone brightly in the sky. For a short while, I thought a morning swim was a possibility, but by day break, the wind had picked up, the clear sky was replaced by looming clouds and the threat of rain was real. The sea was choppy with the northern wind blowing it away from the coast. There would be no swimming today. We had some shopping to do and on my return, I sat in my rocking chair and enjoyed some brain gym.
Crosswords. Sudoku, Code Breakers and these:
You get given the clue and you have to decipher the quote. It makes your head spin! If you got numbers for letters, it would be easier, but making your brain identify one letter as another is really good mental work.
It was good to have a video chat with Stacey. I heard from David as well. He has trimmed down his luggage and left it with a friend in Bangkok (a Fish Hoek friend who is teaching in Thailand). He’s ready to take his collapsible bike and head off to South Korea. The third part of his adventure starts tomorrow morning with a 2:30am flight from Bangkok to Seoul.
We watched a bit of Persuasion with Julian. He’s gone off to an appointment and Mike’s bread is about to come out his bread-maker. The rain has been pouring down. The tanks are 90% full. I have some work to do, so will get on with that shortly.
A new week begins.
Psalm 32:8
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My loving eye on you.
The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
