The starlings have been at the sun bird’s seed again, so I moved the seed ball onto the security gate. This is literally at the entrance to our bedroom. Right now I’m on my bed and there is a steady stream of these little birds flying back and forth and feeding on the seed. The afternoon sun is streaming in right now so a photo into it would not work, but earlier, I stood quietly at the side. They saw me initially and all flew away. After a while the bravest returned….checked me out and took the risk…
Sometimes there are four all fighting to get a mouthful. They can go through half a litre of bird juice in a day! It’s like having a wild aviary.
This morning I was up pretty early and left home just after 7-30 to walk to Fish Hoek to meet Julian for breakfast. Mike drove down. After a leisurely time together, I decided to walk home again. This actually worked quite well, because Mike had been up half of last night with a hacking cough. While I walked home, he stopped by the doctor’s rooms and had it checked out. It is a very common virus which I am hoping to avoid.
After I got home, I worked for four hours and then had a nap. In about an hour I’m going walking with Julian….I’m certainly clocking up the mileage today.
#379 of my 1000 thanks that I have got on top of my work! I feel it is all under control.
It’s another sunny day in Cape Town. We have not had proper rain for days and the severity of the drought only increases with each sun-filled day. It is going to take a number of years to recover. Mike is planning another tank.
Psalm 46:1 we can be sure of…
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
My trust is in Him.
These are the days!
Keep the smile going.
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
