Basement Pictures Before and After Foundation

Friday

Today was a slow day for work, a good day for socialising and an amazing day for cleaning!

As it’s Middle East weekend, things were quiet on the work front, so I had a slow morning. I went to my ladies meeting at 11am and stayed later than I usually do. By 2pm I was home. I did a little more work and then got a bee in my bonnet. Yesterday, I had scrubbed (on my hands and knees) the kitchen floor. It gave me a great deal of satisfaction but while I was down there scrubbing away, I also noticed how dirty it is under the stove. I determined to do a little more cleaning today, but instead of going low again, I started at the top and scrubbed the never seen top of the cupboards. I threw out rubbish and recycled plastic bottles. Tomorrow, I hope to tackle the worst part of the kitchen. This is not even behind the stove. This is under the sink! Ewwww. Needs to be done. I am ready! Someone asked me today why we don’t get a cleaning team in to do a deep clean. I actually prefer it this way. Mike and I feed off each other. I get started in one part of the house and he starts in another. When we see each others work, we are both so motivated to carry on the massive spring clean. It does help that we know that most likely by the middle of next year we will need to be just about emptying this house. That’s a great motivation.

After 5pm, we went down to Echo. All the rubble (apart from a couple of huge rocks) has been moved off the basement. It was ideal for a before and after photo…this one was 3rd November…

And this one is today…

Next week, I hope that we have some walls.

Weekend!
