Today I slipped very quickly back into the routine of normalcy. The show went off well for a Monday. Then, I had to sort out a few little issues, like the burst geyser. This resulted in a busy afternoon, walking round the house with people giving quotes for a solar heating system. Mike decided that if we are to replace the geyser, it may as well be with a solar system. Then we also figured the burst geyser may be covered by insurance, so that was another lengthy call, made this afternoon, and followed up by the bank sending a plumber to come and check. It’s interesting who comes. No mature, experienced, official looking ‘bank’ plumbers…. no! Youngsters who mooched around a bit in the roof and then said they had seen enough and they would let their company tell the insurance company the geyser needed replacing.
Amidst all of this came the company we had hired all the party stuff from to pick it all up. And so followed a flurry of counting and carrying. With that vehicle driving away, I boiled the kettle and made tea. Always a good option. Tonight we are having left over braaied chicken for dinner. We are quickly wading our way through the leftovers and will soon be done!
The day was spectacular…here’s three shots from the CCFm balcony. Muizenberg Mountain…
Then the “familiar to this blog” photo of Muizenberg Beach…
Last night I took myself off for a brisk 3km walk. I passed a house believed to have 12 cats. In one photo, I captured 7 of them….
The white one I called “Nonchalance”…
He looks a bit beaten up (“bit” perhaps!). It looked as if he was ignoring me…he knew I was there…best to just pretend I’m not! Gotta love cats!
This morning in my Bible reading, I read Mark 12. The verse that jumped out at me is verse 30 – (Jesus speaking) – “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.”
That is loving the Lord my God with all that I have….heart, soul, mind and strength…. every single bit of me. A good reminder.
Off to put the finishing touches to left over braai!
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
