Back-end Developments

There are some ‘goings on’ behind the blog scenes. You may have noticed a few things missing.

Today is actually a significant day.

It’s the biggest change to my blog’s home since I began blogging back in about 2009. Initially I wrote on blogspot, but Wayne, who produced for my radio show went and procured this domain for me and I started writing on helgavan.com. That began two years later in November 2011 and I’ve been here ever since. Thank you to Wayne for keeping me up and running for the last almost 5 years.

The current change is that I have changed from Wayne’s server to my children’s server. Adrian & Stacey have taken it over and today’s the first time I’m writing on it with it sitting on a different space in the world. All pretty much Greek to me, but I trust those that are managing it and I have certainly taken it all for granted, simply logging on each day and writing away.  Thank you Adrian & Stacey for taking over this project and serving me in this way! I appreciate you!

For the next day or two, readers may try and access a page and find a message that tells you it is not found on this server. Everything will soon return.

I will soon be making some changes to the blog. The biggest thing regulars will miss is the “Pray for Hannelie” wallpaper. I committed (to myself)to pray for Hannelie for a year. Hannelie & her family sacrificed a normal South African life to go and serve the people of Afghanistan. On 29th November 2014, gunmen stormed her home and brutally killed her husband and two teenage children. While the wallpaper may be gone, the prayers still go up. I pray for her daily. To remind myself to pray, I started a Facebook page and put a Bible verse on it every day.

Power of prayerPrayer is like the back-end of life. Our prayers are going on behind the scenes and while we pray, there are ‘back-end developments’ – like amazing things are happening behind the scenes of my blog, amazing things happen when we pray. Don’t ever think for a moment that God is not listening.

Psalm 66:19

But God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer.

God did listen. He has listened, He is listening and He will continue to listen. Nothing we pray or even say, goes unheard by God. The server that has served helgavan.com over the last 5 years has been the silent partner. It’s the background power that never sleeps or stops serving. That’s just like God. He’s the background Power who never sleeps or stops serving. He knows my needs and yours. As I have completely trusted Wayne’s server and probably just taken it for granted, so I completely trust God. I know He is there and I trust Him completely.

And so even as the blog moves homes, the message will stay the same: Live life fully and trust God – He loves you more than you know and He wants a relationship with you. The Bible is true. Within its pages lies direction for life. I write to encourage you and to bring a little bit of Biblical light and direction to a messed up world.

God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer.

Keep the smile going!

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
