Saturday
Dear Elsie,
Today was the day you & I had one of our lovely long chats. You watched while I picked the tiny ripe tomatoes from the tomato plant. And you saw the cats, watched me take the washing off the line and it was the day I read the little book on Zacchaeus to you. We spoke for an hour.
The day actually began a lot earlier. It was all hands on deck today as one guest left and the others said they were coming an hour later. That’s what they said yesterday. At 10am, I helped the guest pack her car. Ruth arrived and we got stuck in. The table cloth was in no fit state so I got another, but that needed ironing. Ah, we have an iron.
Ruth cleaned the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen.
Mike & I did the upstairs (which just needed touching up) and the lounge.
It took the 3 of us 2 hours and we were good to go. Ruth was grateful for the help. The guests only arrived, in the end, at 2pm. I also had a chat with the guest in the Seaview Apartment. He leaves on Saturday but is back at the end of January and then mid-March to the end of May. This means we’ll have the two main units occupied while we are, God willing, overseas. Our cruise is due to begin in 109 days.
This afternoon, I walked to Fish Hoek to do some shopping. I came home along Daisy Lane and stopped for a few minutes to admire the view.
Mike and David are watching chess.
Isaiah 46:9
Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me.
It’s not about now – we are only passing through.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Gran xx
