A Satisfying Day

I’m trying to take advantage of the windless, dry autumn days that we are having in Cape Town. How we long for rain, but even though we need it, these days need to be appreciated. This morning I took myself off to beach and walked and ran along the sea front and ended it off by running up 120 steps. Truth be told, I stopped about step 89 and caught my breath!

The workout numbers looked like this:

  • Time: 40 minutes
  • Average heart rate: 135 bpm
  • Calories: 327
  • Step count: 4815
  • Distance: 3.61km
  • Number of flights of stairs: 9

That’s what my fit bit said anyway!

On arriving home, I did a bit of work, while Mike worked on the balcony doors.

He has taken all the glass out and rehung that one. When it got too hot, he stopped for the heat of the day and has only continued now.

Meantime, I went to my ladies meeting, which I always enjoy.

Back to work this afternoon, to finish off for the week. Then I have also spent 24 minutes on the exercise bike. I’m trying to ramp up my exercise levels, you can tell!

#297 of my 1000 thanks is for my computer keyboard. It is really an easy keyboard to use. Typing is so easy and there’s no strain on my wrists. As I write so much, I’m grateful!

God is faithful. There are things that we do in this life. We may never know the fruit of our labour until eternity. It’s one of the things that I loved about radio. You speak words of comfort or encouragement. The Lord has those who need the message tune in at the perfect time. You can’t see them. You don’t know their need. You just say the words that you prepared in advance to say at that time. All you are is a voice on the radio. They oftentimes don’t even know the name of the presenter or the name of the radio station. They just hear what God wants them to know at the perfect time.

That’s what God does.

We are born into this world with varying talents and gifts. We leave our prints as we pass through and we hold it within our means to leave positive words and positive actions behind. The choice is ours.

I’ve been reading the Gospel of John. Oh it is so profound. Jesus is real. Everything He said is true.

Acts 17:27-28

God intended that they would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us. 28 For in Him we live and move and have our being.

We have a lot to be thankful for.

These are the days!

Keep the smile going.

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
