A Really Good Sunday

Today has been a really good Sunday! We woke up and had coffee, did our Bible reading and Mike caught up with some of the cricket while I put a stew in the slow cooker. Then we went to church. We came home, had tea and a snack. David arrived around noon and we had lunch.

It is #243 of my 1000 thanks – for slow cookers that allow me to put dinner on and walk away – come home to lunch cooked!

A lazy few hours passed by before Mike and I set off for Clovelly for 9 holes of golf. The only hiccup was that he forgot his golf trolley so we had to carry the bag! We took turns!

Here’s Mike practicing his swing before teeing off at the tenth….what a majestic day.

Mike played really well…although I made a mistake with the score on 10. He made par so that should be 5 not 4.

Knowledgeable golfers will wonder about the M next to the 4 at 14th. That’s for Mulligan! His first shot went into the water!

I’m looking forward to Dustin coming back to SA with his new wife Carolyn so he can join us for the golf. We thought of Dustin today as we played. He will see an improvement in Mike’s golf! They hope to return to Cape Town before the end of the year.

So we got home and watched the end of Miss South Africa where Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters was crowned the new Miss SA 2017. She is 21 years old and comes from Sedgefield, in the Western Cape. Yay!

Today as the day has ended, the verse that popped into my mind:

Proverbs 10:22

It is the blessing of the LORD that makes rich, And He adds no sorrow to it.

I have done no work today. It has been a good rest.

These are the days!

Keep the smile going.

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
