I don’t know what got into me yesterday. Why I thought it was a good idea to do the 18 holes of golf with Mike AND then go for a regular gym workout, I don’t know. By last night I was shattered. As I lay in bed, I recognised that my head did not hurt. My feet hurt. My knees hurt. My shoulders hurt. My heart pounded. It was all tired. What was I thinking? I regretted my foolishness. I mustn’t do this to myself!
So today, I took it easy. It was a quiet and gentle day. David came for lunch. We watched the replay of the unexpected win that South Africa (cricket team) had over India last night, which we missed. After David had left, I went to sleep. I’m not sure how long I slept for, but it must have been close to an hour and a half. I slept half on the left side and woke up to roll over before sleeping the other half on my right side. It was so good for me and just what I needed.
Psalm 119:133
Direct my steps by Your word, and let no iniquity have dominion over me.
After waking up, I joined Mike watching the winter Olympics being held in South Korea. The ice skating was majestic. We went to church with our friends Peter and Riana and afterwards they came back to us for fruit salad.
So that’s been the day.
#565 of my 1000 thanks – One of the pleasures of my life, if you read this regularly, you will have seen, are the birds feeding on suet snacks. I had run out, so asked the nursery to order a new container. They arrived. We are back in business…
They are happy then….the cage is aimed at preventing the starlings from getting to the food.
These are the days.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
