A Perfect Day in Cape Town…SPIDER & all…

8-40pm

The hottest month of the year. On waking this morning, the wind had dropped and the sunrise hinted of a perfect summer’s day to come…

I spent the morning in a Living Hope meeting and then came home to find Mike had done a humungous amount of work in the garden.  Later I went out to to some watering & noticed a very scary looking spider. After doing a bit of googling, I discovered that this creepy visitor to my garden  is the  female of the Argiope australis variety. She has a large yellow and black scalloped abdomen. Her legs are thin and black striped. These spiders normally hang upside down with their two back and two front legs together. From a distance the spider appears to have four instead of eight legs. The head is silvery grey. The males are far smaller and quite insignificant in comparison. Glad to say these spiders are harmless to man.

Creepy hey?! It looks as if the spider’s on my camera lens. I took it with my cell phone set on macro.

On a prettier note,  we have a few proteas in the garden…this one is looking particularly good…

This evening, after chicken burgers, we went down to Fish Hoek Beach and I ended the day snapping some magnificent photos in the perfect fading light…

Seagull…

Sunset, Moonrise…

Don’t we live in the most amazing city in the world? That’s a yes! WIN! 🙂

And now Saturday is at it’s end.  This morning when I did my Bible reading, I found a Bible verse I’d never seen before. It comes right after the 10 commandments in Exodus 20:24. The Lord says, “Wherever I cause my Name to be honoured, I will come to bless you.”

I like that!

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
