After living in the same house for 24 years, we have accumulated an enormous amount of stuff! From time to time we declutter and after Granny left, it meant we had her room to sort out as well. Mike declutters in fits and starts. He goes mad for a few days and then that’s it for a while! I generally, am REALLY bad at it. But I think I have finally found a solution that works for me. The mezzanine, which is the platform just off our bedroom is a little space that fits three wall units- made into bookshelves (wonderful clutter gatherers) and a single bed (wonderful clothes gatherer). Up until yesterday, the bed looked like this…
Yesterday, I spent a number of hours sorting out clothes and cleaning the wall units and now the bed looks like this…
From our bedroom, the mezzanine looks like this…
And when you look over the ballustrade to downstairs, it looks like this…
So, for the moment, the mezzanine is nice and sparkly. It’s great feeling once you’ve cleaned up. Now I need to get stuck into what’s going on right under the mezzanine. That is another hotspot that needs sorting. What’s working for me is getting home as early as I can once a week and dedicating an hour or two to sorting out one area. The hardest is the first 5 minutes! I’ve finished Granny’s room. I’ve now sorted out the mezzanine and now I’ve got time allocated to the mess in the piano room. Lots to be done, but one little thing at a time works.
Psalm 128:2 You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours.
You reap what you sow!
Tomorrow, I’m climbing Elsie’s Peak- should be some great photos!
God bless you loads!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
