Mike has worked out that our water leak is resulting in the loss of a litre of water every ten minutes! As a result the water is off for most of the day and the plumber is looking to see if the leak detection team can come on Monday. This is not going to be an inexpensive exercise. Where is the water going? We can’t find any damp spots or hear any running water, so we hope it won’t be difficult to find.
#487 of my 1000 thanks is that our water bill was only R175 (up from R16). That right there was what alerted us to a leak. It could have been so much worse.
Meanwhile, back at the mountain house, the wood chip pile is looking a whole lot less…the steps and the back wall are both visible.
This was it yesterday…
By the end of the weekend, I would like it all to be gone.
While we were there today,we also experimented with arranging some rocks to make a rustic path going up the mountain. This is all in preparation for hopefully, God willing, one day having to take building materials up the hill. We could make a ramp over the rocks…
No snakes were found in the moving of the rocks! Shew!
I’m not sure if I wrote about the snake David encountered one sunny day. He arrived home and opened the gate to walk up the 24 steps. As he rounded the corner, there right in front of him was a Cape Cobra. It had been sunning itself on the steps, heard him coming and got up to leave. As David came face to face with it, its head was fully up. David didn’t stop to say ‘hello!’ He backtracked pretty swiftly. He came back up a few minutes later, gingerly looking around the corner to see if it was still there, but it was gone. He couldn’t find it. Disappeared altogether.
So grateful, it hasn’t been seen under all those wood chips!
Yay! We are getting the patio back. This gives you an idea of the view from the patio. I took this photo when we met with the building team last Monday. It was also the day Mike had his eye checked.
Today I finished Ezekiel. Tomorrow I start Daniel. I’m also reading Psalm 119.
Psalm 119:49
Remember your word to your servant, for you have given me hope.
That’s the truth. Our hope is in the Lord.
I’ve just got off the phone to Stacey. I love chatting to her. I’ve been lying in bed while writing my blog and have the blood pressure machine here, so I took my blood pressure. 111/79. My heart rate is 56. I should be asleep!
These are the days!
Keep the smile going.
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
