A Hardworking Day

Monday

Dear Elsie

Shew! Today was a busy, hardworking day. With the wind still blowing we didn’t go swimming but we did clean the Seaview Apartment. The guest who was there left early and so we could get stuck in early too. We stopped for breakfast before I started my normal work. I worked 9 hours with about an hour’s break. Half an hour was spent moving rocks for a gabion basket. I know that sounds crazy but it’s a good way to get exercise.  From the top the area looks like this. The red box is roughly where we moved stones from in order to prepare for the first gabion basket. The pile of stones on the left came out of that spot…

It’s dusty dirty work but does get us moving and lifting rocks which is good for us. This was my view while I was sitting with Mike piling the stones he passed me.

I was reminded that we sat very close to that spot back in late 2019 just before the house began to be built. We sat and prayed for it. This photo below is where they were doing the first piles.

I was looking for a before photo and searched through all my 2019 photos. What struck me is when you are waiting for something, it’s important to get on with life. So many of the photos were us doing other stuff while we were waiting for the house plans to be passed. We worked on this project for years. The photo below was taken on 17th December 2017. We had gone to the house because Mike wanted to measure something.  Talk about a pipe dream.

Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labour in vain.

Anyway, I also got 3 loads of washing done.

So all in all, a good start to the week.

Psalm 16:1
Keep me safe, my God, for in you I take refuge.

The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Gran xx 🙂
