The Lord Sees Beyond…

4-35pm

It’s been a fabulous 24 hours. The Cape Town weather has been absolutely magnificent. This sunshine and no wind is amazing. Yesterday Clovelly Golf Course was perfect for golf…

Clovelly golf courseThis morning, Scott, Mike and I headed off to the beach for breakfast at the Bistro..we sat outside at that table on the right!…

Breakfast on the beachThe tide was out, the sea was cold (11C) and the wind was gentle. It was idyllic!

Then while Mike worked Scott and I took a walk to my favourite Silvermine spot…not too many people walk up to where we went. The path is now hidden and you have to go under the low lying branches of a tree to find it. But up we went…to enjoy the spectacular view of Chapman’s Peak and Long Beach Noordhoek…

Chappies from the Silvermine ledgeAt the top….

On the ledgeWe also walked around the reservoir where the water was so amazingly still and glassy…

Silvermine ReservoirScott really enjoyed it.

Tonight I think we will head down to Ocean Basket for fish and tomorrow is Mother’s Day. The plan is we will go into town early to wish Mike’s Mom (aka Granny) and take her flowers. Then we will go out for lunch.

Mother’s Day tomorrow and I am missing Stacey and Adrian!  I had this conversation with Scott because I can imagine his Mom is missing him too! The bottom line, with our adult children is that we have to let them go. We wouldn’t have it any other way, than watching them grow and leave home and make lives for themselves, but don’t think for a moment that it’s easy… initially anyway.  Today is 11th May. Stacey and Adrian arrive back in South Africa 3 months tomorrow. They will spend a week or so with Adrian’s parents and arrive back in Cape Town after that.  That’s about 100 days away! That’s why I don’t dwell on it. As long as they are well and happy, I’m happy! If I touch sides with them a couple of times a week, that’s cool. I may not speak to my children every day, but I can speak to the Lord about my children every day!  I’m also speaking to the Lord about my children’s children and their children after that, so I’ve pretty much got the next three generations covered!

Psalm 102: 18 “Let this be written for a future generation, that a people not yet created may praise the LORD….”

The Lord sees beyond

And so we get to live and breath and enjoy another day.

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
