5 Happy Moments In My Day

Have you ever thought about what makes you happy?

Sometimes I find myself grinning like a Cheshire cat and telling Mike I’m in my ‘happy space.’

If I think of 5 happy moments in my day, I would come up with the following:

1. Reading something inspirational.

I would usually find this in the Bible. It would be awe and wonder as I think of something simple that I’ve perhaps read many times before but that jumps out at me with fresh new meaning. Like this:

Ezra 5:5
“But the eye of their God was watching…”

He was watching His people then and He is watching His people now. His eye is on the sparrow and His eye is on me. God cares.

That’s a happy moment.

2. Coffee.

I love coffee, but try not to drink too much of it. I restrict myself to one or two cups a day, so  I get a lot of pleasure out of making myself a freshly ground cup of really good coffee. That’s a happy moment.

3. Work.

I absolutely love my job. I work from home for an international recruitment company. The hours are flexible. I find myself sometimes sitting at about 8pm with a little lamp on at my desk doing administrative work that many may imagine to be mundane. For me it’s just great! I love having work to do and no pressure.  I expressed my appreciation in my diary. Happy moment!

Thank you Lord

4. My favourite TV show.

This is my happy space. I grab my cross-stitch and sit down in front of the TV and watch House Hunters International. I love seeing the world and watching the dynamics between a couple.

5. The moment Mike arrives home from work.

That’s a happy moment! The second I hear the car, I cry “Daddy’s Home!” It’s something I’ve done since we became parents!

It’s good to look at our day to day life and find things that make us happy. The days fly by, often-times in a blur, especially when we are in the crazy busy parenting season. For us that season is over and I am content with some seriously simple things that make me happy.

Thank you Lord indeed!

Keep the smile going.

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
