1st May 2018

It is amazing how quickly time passes by. One third of the year has passed. I feel like saying, ‘please stop the clock’. I like working, but today I tried to take the day off. We started by having breakfast with Julian and David at the Stag in Fish Hoek. It has wonderful coffee!

Before I even left home, I had already been contacted by my colleague who wanted to know if I was around. I reminded her that I had taken the day off, but when I got home, I remembered it was 1st May and I had to get my invoice into the company so they could pay me. I sat down and did that.

#647 of my 1000 thanks – payday! Well the money will go in tomorrow, but it’s always nice putting in the invoice on 1st.

When I went online to email the invoice, on checking my email, I saw something important that I didn’t want to leave until tomorrow. I got sucked in! Eventually after an hour or so of work, I went to the gym to swim. I planned on swimming 60 lengths, but after 50, decided I’d had enough. I was also under a bit of time pressure as the family were coming for lunch. By then it was noon and I still had to shop and roast the veggies.

I went to the Mall, remembered to buy  cat food, bought veggies and a few other things for lunch and set off home. Half way home, I realised I hadn’t bought the chicken! With the roadworks, I couldn’t go ’round the block’ so I drove home and Mike went back and bought the chicken, while I put the veggies on and cleaned up the house. 🙂

We had a lovely lunch and lazy afternoon. At 4pm, Julian, Mike and I went to visit our friends at the Lakes and walked the Boathouse. You have got to love these autumn days…

By 6pm, I was on the road taking Julian to the airport. It’s the end of a nice long weekend for him. We see him again a week tomorrow!

1st May 2018. The new month lies ahead – go with these words…

Genesis 26:24

“Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bless you.”

Amen!

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂

Gym: Those 50 lengths. I think of the 50, 6 were breast stroke, 6 were backstroke and 2 were on my back just kicking –  so 36 were crawl. It was a workout.
