Tuesday
Dear Elsie
Today was the day the wind blew hard and strong and long. All day long it churned up the waves and white horses galloped towards the beach.
The wind is expected to abate overnight. We had a very restful day. I got dressed to go for a drive with Julian in the afternoon. We drove down to Simon’s Town and around past Cape Point, back over Red Hill. Evidence of the fire very clear. Down by Miller’s Point, it jumped the road and threatened the restaurant and camp site. No damage appeared to have been done and we didn’t see any evidence of houses burnt. The fire services are still around keeping an eye on hot spots. We did some shopping on the way home.
I clicked somewhere on my cell phone today and found myself with a variety of unexpected photo options, including a crash helmet…
and my personal favourite…Helga the cat.
Turns out I was on Instagram. There were other options.
Thinking of Anne today as she celebrates her birthday. Hope you have had a fab day today Annie.
And that’s the wrap for a quiet Boxing Day 2023.
Isaiah 53:5
But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed.
It’s not about now – we are only passing through.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Gran xx
