While today has been really busy – I really love Wednesdays. There is no rush in the morning. No one is arriving and no one is waiting for me. This morning, I woke up at about 7-15am. I threw open the curtains, swung wide the doors and admired the fresh new day…
After remembering that “Cappuccino King” Mike had made me three cappuccinos yesterday, I figured, since I was awake, I would get the ball rolling this morning. I am, sad to say, a coffee snob. Once you have started drinking really good coffee, it’s hard to go back. We are drinking this at the moment and it’s really good…I’ve ‘bean mugged!’
The coffee machine grinds it and squeezes out the brew…
It’s a grand way to start the day!
Since then, I’ve done 5 hours of work and taken Mike to Diep River to pick up his car after its service. We had my car serviced yesterday and Mike went to collect it in his car, left his there and picked up mine. Now they are both sorted for another 15 000km.
Now the blog is just about done and dinner needs to be cooked. I’ve got at least 1 or two blogs on the Maldives to write (3 altogether have to be complete by tomorrow!) and hope to sneak in a couple more hours of work today.
But still I love Wednesdays. They are carefree easy days that have enough time in them to get everything achieved.
Every day has a flavour of its own. Mike and I are still wallowing in the heady pleasure of his retirement. I still find myself high fiving him saying, “you’re retired!” And even though retirement has come with a whole stack of work, it is a beautifully short commute – he has to walk downstairs to his office and sit down at his desk. It takes 30 seconds instead of 45 minutes each way. We are jubilant!
Today, tomorrow and the next day as well!
These are the days!
Keep the smile going.
God bless you!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
