We woke up to a beautiful day…
….but with it came the news of Whitney Houston’s unexpected death. Having grown up ‘in the church’ she was prayed for by her Mom her whole life long. It bought much joy to her Mom, I am sure, when Whitney got her life back on the straight and narrow and recorded “I Look To You.” But it wasn’t going to be long before she ‘fell off the wagon’ again and back into a life of addiction. I think sometimes God says ‘so far and no further.’ He saves us from ourselves.
We went to church along what should be called “white cat” road! We saw three white cats…here are two of them…
When I was growing up, every single white cat we had (we would get one, lose one, get another etc), we called “Coochie!” So to me, today, white cats are ‘Coochies!”
Two years ago I learned (via Beth Moore) that with the fruit and filling of the Holy Spirit you can do things you never thought you could do, you would know things you never thought you would know and you will feel things you never thought you would feel. She went onto teach that to get the fruit and filling of the Holy Spirit you needed to spend time with God, even if it meant getting up earlier! As a result of that message, on 1st February 2010, I started getting up earlier to spend time with God. I still do today. The sermon we heard in church this morning, (via Pastor John) echoed that vital message. Set your alarm a little earlier for tomorrow morning. You will be so glad you did!
Romans 10:17 – So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
We had a lovely braai with the family & I had a snooze in the afternoon. Quite a bad thing to have on a Sunday because I end up going to bed later than I should. It was only half an hour, so hopefully I will still be on track to sleep at 8-45pm!
I read on Facebook recently about a ‘photo challenge’ for each day in February. I take a photo each day anyway, but one of the things suggested was inside my bathroom cabinet…I can do that…nothing to write home about!…
The weekend is over and I am ready for Monday!
God bless you!
In His Grip, you and me!
