10-10am
This morning when I woke up, I immediately thought of it as being Thankful Thursday. I prayed for a bit and then decided to write down what I was thankful for. This is what I wrote:
Thankful Thursday – 6th December 2012 – 4-12am
Lord, I am thankful for:
- My salvation.
- Mike – how long suffering he is, being married to me! 🙂
- My wonderful children.
- Granny, who keeps me humble and reminds me of what’s important.
- Mavis – who takes a load off my mind!
- CCFm – for Rise and Shine – for vibrancy and creativity and ability – for joy and ministry.
- For people whose paths cross mine – for quirky people who add colour to my world. They all have needs and I trust You for them.
- The power of prayer, that it brings with it peace and contentment.
- Each person who will tune into Rise and Shine this morning. I am thankful that You know the number of hairs on their heads. You know where they are listening and all their needs. You know their names and those of their families. You know their struggles.
- Not having to worry about anything!
I started to think, “I don’t need to worry about that until the time comes,” but the Spirit interjected my thought “You don’t have to worry about that EVER!”
Writing down a gratitude list is such an attitude-changer! It’s liberating!
Psalm 125:1 says, “Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever.”
What’s on YOUR mind? Quite often we have a string of things on our minds that are worrying us. The Bible has a lot to say about worry.
Philippians 4:6-7 6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus”.
Matthew 6:27 Jesus says, “Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?”
Matthew 11:28 Jesus says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls”.
Those words are like a soothing balm to shattered nerves! So whatever worry is on your mind, dump it!
Sunrise this morning was spectacular…
A really early blog today. I have a meeting at 12 noon and that may go on a bit, so when I get home, I’d like to have everything done, particularly as we are going out this evening for a short while.
Show prep next.
God bless you enormously!
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
