Weigh-in Day…

1-24pm

Twice a week I go to gym with two friends and our personal trainer/friend Melanie takes us through an hour of high impact exercise. It’s fantastic! Two weeks ago, Mel did an assessment on me and set some goals for fitness. I want to lose weight and we decided Thursdays would be my weigh in day.  On that day, I weighed 72.6kg. It was depressing, because my scale weighs me 2kg less! It is what is is. I cut down on dairy and started reducing calories. Last week I weighed 71.9kg. This morning I had my bulletproof coffee and then had some biltong and 2 eggs, followed by a regular cappuccino! Oooh, I went off to gym feeling full and a bit heavier than when I woke up. So, I climb on the scale and……after it weighed me  at 71.4kg, it came down to…

My weight todayYes! I’ll accept that. So I’ve lost just over 1kg in 2 weeks. Half a kilogramme a week is not great, but it’s fine if it’s consistent. We’ll see what next week brings. Next week, I’ve got something on on Thursday, so we’ve changed gym to Wednesday.

I’ve had a few queries about the bulletproof coffee. It is amazing stuff!  It sounds quite gross, but if you are used to drinking coffee without sugar, you will have no problem drinking this.  I make a jug of filter coffee in the normal way. Then I drop 2 tablespoons of coconut oil and about 3/4 of tablespoon of butter into a cup. I put in a little boiling water and stir the butter until it has melted. Then I get my frother and I whisk it well. It looks like this…

FrothThen I pour the coffee in and voila, a creamy, filling,  energy shot that will see you through the entire morning…

Bullet proof coffeeAnd now for some soul food…

As I read the Bible this morning, I saw a principle God employed with the people of Israel that continues to this day. God does not rush. Exodus 23 vs 30 says, “Little by little I will drive them out before you…” Regularly God does things little by little. I looked at my house…back in 1989, we bought a tiny little house. Little by little, we were able to renovate. We didn’t more than double the size of our house in one shot. It took time. But now when I look at it…I see God’s hand of provision little by little. It also interested me that Moses had been called by God to go up the mountain. He went up and “For 6 days the cloud covered the mountain and on the 7th day the Lord called to Moses from within the cloud.” (Exodus 24 vs 16). Can you imagine being Moses. Sitting on top of the mountain just waiting? Maybe second guessing himself that he actually had heard from God. 6 days of just sitting waiting. God’s timing is not our timing. Of that we can be sure! Most times He does things little by little and requires for us to wait for Him. It creates dependence on Him and patience. But He is always there and soon He will reveal His plan for you. You just have to wait.

God bless you today!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
