We Need Rain

Cape Town has not had decent rain for weeks. We were away on Friday 27th July so I’m not sure how much it rained then, but it wasn’t enough to fill our tanks. It couldn’t have been that much. Since then we have had some light drizzle – a shower or two, but far from the massive downpours that we enjoyed in June. July’s rainfall was woefully short of average.

From this website, comes the following information:

A normal July rainy season would see the region take on 535mm of rain over a total of 31 days. July 2018, only a third of that total was recorded.  Kirstenbosch is also famous for its July downpours but has fallen well short of its monthly average. Usually, there are 12 rainy days in July, but the region experienced just four, and is nowhere near its average of 247mm.

This also came from https://www.thesouthafrican.com/cape-town-weather-rainfall-july-2018/

Yesterday the dam levels were a fraction below 57%.

It will be wonderful if the rainfall this week will be sufficient to push the dam levels over 60%.

Julian and I took a walk to the Sun Valley Pond. It is still looking full and the ducks are loving it.

Today has been quite a relaxed one.

#744 of my 1000 thanks is that we only got up at 11am!

Job 13:15

Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him.

This is an interesting Bible verse. I don’t believe God sends us trauma and bad things. I believe God loves us and only wants what is good for us. I believe that all the evil in the world is as a result of a fallen world. God knows all our troubles. Nothing happens to us without His presence, His permission and His purpose being worked out in our lives.

I don’t believe He slays me,  but when trouble comes, I will trust Him.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂

Gym:

  • Walk – 22 minutes
  • A new thing I tried today was the “24” Class – it’s made up of 8 exercises done one after the other with a 10 second break in between. At the end of the 8, you have a 30 second break and do them all again. Altogether you do the circuit 6 times. At the end my heart rate was 165!
  • Bike ride 5 minutes.
  • Stepper 3 minutes to make up an hour.
